Along with this, he gave her the D. His relationship with this woman is both romantic and sexual.

Clever wordplay and usage of homophones!

People who cannot tolerate “waiting” do not have “patience,” and people who have extra “weight” are obese and become hospital “patients.”

Since Steez is also on this song it can be assumed that they wrote their lyrics together and Steez either told him to put it in there or let him use it. Although, some people have actually taken this to mean that Steez was ghostwriting for Joey but it would make the most sense that they just wrote their verses together.

Sound like he say “pair of shoes”, thus playing into further lines

CJ is fly like a superhero, and he probably sees himself as Batman. You can tell, because “chilling like a villain” is rumoured to be first used by Mr. Freeze in 1997’s Batman & Robin.

Someone who is “chilling like a villain” is feeling good – the same as someone on cloud 9.

André 3000 also used this expression on “Da Art of Storytelling Part 1”:

We chillin' like a villain and a nigga feelin' right

Joey used his nights back then more productively than just sleeping, by writing bars and recording them so he could become one of the best rappers as soon as possible.

It sounds reminiscent of this famous bar by nasty Nas

July 6, 1785, The dollar was unanimously chosen as the monetary unit for the United States. Like most people, CJ Fly enjoys having money. The more he can stack, the better.

July 6 is also CJ Fly’s birthday.

Joey’s eyes look slimmer (like most Asians') because he’s always so high – slimmer eyes are known to be a common side effect.

This line is comparable to Steez’s on this song:

Eyes can’t open so I rather leave squinting

Notice the way STEEZ contradicts “out” with “in”.

Also notice the way he relates “knock out” and “kick” in this line. If you were kicked in the head hard enough you would be knocked out.

While not everyone knows this, Steez actually used to be kinda chubby back when he recorded his first mixtape, The YELLOW tape with Jakk the Rhymer.

With the help of a fixie bike, he lost a whole lot of weight pretty quickly. It made him look like the Capital STEEZ that everyone knows.

This song was probably recorded not that long after he lost all that weight so Joey was still joking around about it with Steezy.

Although he was not born here, his parents and ancestors passed on their genes to him.

‘Popeye the Sailor’ always had a tobacco pipe and spinach in it. The type of pipe the Pro Era members carry has another type of green leaf, the one that get’s them high (lifted).

Continues the Egyptian theme by speaking about hieroglyphs, and how his lyrics are too complicated to even comprehend, like hieroglyphics.

Joey may be fairly young (he would have been around 16 when this song was recorded) but his mind is older; he sometimes states he has a mental age of 47. Meaning he has the intellect and insight of a middle aged man despite his physical age.

He could also be referring the concept of souls and reincarnation, saying as he believes his soul is ancient and countless years old he does not feel age in a traditional sense and so he feels a lot older than just a teenager. So while he may just appear to be a teenaged rapper his knowledge that his soul has already lived thousands of times makes him internally a lot older.

Additionally, Joey uses the word “ancient” as a homophone to the words “ain’t shit”. This is also used in his song World Domination.

Clever word play here, Joey refers to the show Scooby Doo which features avid herbalists Shaggy and Scooby Doo.

“Scoobie doobie doo” is a catchphrase of the show and here Joey also refers to doobie – another name for a joint.

To to top off the Scoobie Doo reference he mentions Daphne, another character from the show.

A reference to the then unreleased track on STEEZ’s tape Amerikkkan Korruption featuring Joey called “Talking Shit”

This is a clever double entendre by steezy, meaning that pro era is alwayse stylish despite the weather.

It can mean that the pros are alwayse going to be making music and working hard to achieve what they want, despite what might happen.

A reference to making a deal with the devil, the price of any deal is commonly portrayed as selling your soul.

However Joey means this in a more real sense too, people he grew up with turn to robbing and killing just to get enough money to maintain.

CJ Fly just bought two ounces (56 grams) and a quad (7 grams) of weed. Which he will smoke to get lifted, like a plane on a runway does – it waits to get permission to lift off.

This would get him into an extreme positive state of mind (cloud 9), although he already achieved this without smoking reefer (weed).

The term birds is slang for women. She is not just any bird, however. She is among the greatest and unique birds of them all, a Condor. In a way, she is acting fly. This line about birds follows the previous line about plans to put emphasis on the idea of “flying”.

Steez is inferring that love and infatuation are two of a kind, despite it being a sin he’s infatuated with a girl and he likes the feeling, so say it again but it doesn’t bother Steelo. However, whether it’s is the girl from 135 and/or Vibe Ratings he’s talking about or rather, Mary Jane, is up for interpretaition…
