Many kids today are getting caught up with taking and selling drugs like Vicodin, Ecstasy and other pills. Most kids who get high will eventually go home and lie to their parents about how they’re really doing respectable and honourable things and not taking (like smoking cannabis or getting “stoned”) or selling drugs.

In the old Testament of the Bible, those who sin are also often stoned as punishment. For example, in Deuteronomy 17:5:

Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

In this sense, STEEZ could also mean that you are getting “stoned” as punishment for sinning before then going home and lying about how righteous you are.

‘Flintstones vitamins’ is probably a reference to the E pills that are pressed into the shape of Flintstones characters, resembling the popular vitamins that parents often give to children in the real vitamin form. Also, with the Flintstones being from the stone age, STEEZ could be referring to drugs he considers to result in wild or uncivil behaviour.

Since the Flintstones lived in the stone age, the use of “stoned” here is particularly clever as it directly plays off of the Flintstones reference.

Continuing with the simile’s in this verse, STEEZ is saying his verses/lyrics are like the nicest strain of marijuana or coke to a cocain addict.

Steez is questioning God on marvin GAY and chardonnay the wine (which is play on words with the single Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay”) as the actions are not justified (righteous) because why would god make wine but then say we cannot get drunk Ephesians 5:18, furthermore why would God create gay people but then say in the Bible that thou cannot be homosexual

Also the obvious reference to Big Sean’s Marvin Gaye and Chardonnay, as well as paying homage to the God Marvin Gaye.

Don’t expect anyone to try and rescue you unless there’s a super hero in sight cause when Capital STEEZ spits, his mic is as hot as a heroine addict’s pipe.

Also notice the word play!

The word heroin consists of the two words hero in

All Capital STEEZ’s memories that he remembers or chooses to remember always end in him getting some from a bitch.

ACCEPTED COMMENT: He trails off after “gettin'” basically representin back in the day bitches were playing him and he wasnt getting nothing. Pausing after and leaving out nothing just emphasizes how much he really wasn’t getting.

So the meaning of him saying bring it back here is obviously that him and the pros are gonna bring back real hip hop to the music industry. The less obvious meaning here is connecting the next line “spring in action” because a spring must be pulled BACK before it springs out pretty clever word play by steez which easily would fly (or spring) over someones head

Him not thinking about the past relationship/memories he had represents the metaphor “closing a mental”

Pro Era and Capital STEEZ hail from the Flatbush region of Brooklyn, a famous part of NYC known for its influence on Hip-Hop. Steelo and PE are making it harder and harder for the competition

Ok so most people wouldn’t catch this but the line “Im here all night” is alluding to the previous line “write until your pencils crack” which has a double meaning write until your pencil snaps in half and also write until your pencil is addicting like crack cocaine
a very known side effect of crack cocaine is to keep you up all night which is what steez’s pencil causes him to do he stays up all night writing because his pencil is like crack to him how addicting it is.

A double entendre for lying still from sleeping, and and an overdose from the aforementioned drugs resulting in lying stuff from rigor mortis.

Wordplay also in this line. “This aint a cat nap, but I’m sure it’ll have you ‘lion’ stiff”.

Using his tonal perception here the line “here on sight” can also easily be heard as “heron sight”. A heron is a kind of bird with amazing eyesight. Its eyesight is about three times more detailed than ours, and its binocular vision gives it very good depth perception. Also it is well known that steez an interest in birds and was fascinated by them.

The metronome produces a repetitive beat or pulse that keeps ticking allowing a musician to maintain a steady tempo. Following the previous line it could mean STEEZ’s heart beats to the same tempo as the sad songs he listens to. Tied in to the next line his heart beat is waiting for lyrics to accompany the beat his heart is making

“Bird” referring to a woman whom he tried to pursue but ultimately did not manage to catch.

Very interesting play on words by steez here “Ain’t nything” which is slang for aint nothing also reads as anything. so hes asking you salvations? anything? before he starts killing it

A girl took his money and he learned the hard way, also wordplay on Penny Hardaway. It was unfair he said that about her, but he didn’t get any from the girl

STEEZ also creates a wordplay with foul/fowl… when you shoot a fowl, you are shooting a bird, which ties in with the previous lines about the girl.. also a foul shot is a type of shot in basketball which obviously ties in with the Hardaway reference.

Also score ties in with foul, shot, Penny Hardaway.

He can break down government corruption for you to understand, just as easy as he can break down your sound system, because he knows a lot about music. He has the knowledge that you think you know. So quit thinking you know and jumping to assumptions, referring to music and political topics. He then continues to explain what he can do with his music.

The quality of lyrics being rapped by STEEZ and his colleagues are addicting to listen to, much like crack is an addicting substance to take in.
