James Alex, better known by his stage name Karacter, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer from Grand Rapids.

Karacter began writing his own raps at the age of ten. People often said that his lyrics were impressive for his age, but he felt he wouldn’t be taken seriously. After giving up rapping for a year, he decided to try writing again. It wasn’t until age 15, that he decided to produce his music; releasing his album Calling Names the following year.
