Festus Olalekan Dairo, professionally known as Its_Commando (or simply Commando), is a Nigerian gospel rapper and Christ-based filmmaker who emerged from the Mount Zion Institute of Christian Drama. He is celebrated for his unarguable prowess in cinematic storytelling and theatrical productions, as well as his distinctive fusion of indigenous Yoruba, Pidgin English, and standard English. Through this culturally resonant approach, he exclusively utilises media and theatre spaces to propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ to urban audiences and street communities.
His discography features notable tracks such as Back to the Street, Mr Kampala, Jesu L’oluwa, Wake Up, and several others, each crafted to convey the message of Christ in a compelling and contextually relevant manner. Festus’s style is equally evident in his playwrights, including Egun Ara, My Child, and Arodan; his screenplays, such as Odo, Jinxed, Life on Line-strand, Love in Hell, and Ebi Tani; and a body of informative advertisements.
Born in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, and based in Ile-Ife , Osun State, Festus is a Film Producer and Director who serves as Secretary at Father’s Courier Productions and Director of Zion Royal Theatre of the Mount Zion Institute of Christian Drama. He operates under the supervision of the Executive Director and Head of the Managerial Team, Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, and is also actively involved in production work with Mount Zion Film Production.
