youproblem is the exciting new collaboration between Sydney producer/drummer Alistair Hayes and singer/songwriter Alana Patmore. Spending the majority of 2021 building up their sound, the band debuted in March 2022 with their first three singles amassing over 100K streams and featuring on Spotify editorial playlists like Front Left, Indie Arrivals and Office Stereo. Their debut single, ‘Wasting Time’ made waves across triple J and triple J Unearthed with glowing reviews from Jess Perkins, Tommy Faith, Declan Byrne and Dave Ruby Howe cementing the duo as one to seriously watch.

The band followed up with ‘Drunk’ in May, which was described as a “slice of magnetic indie” from triple J’s Abby Butler and then ‘Growing Pains’ in July, which were both released as a cinematic double music video. Both music videos were featured on Rage, perfectly setting up youproblem for their most infectious single yet, ‘Shoot Me In The Grocery Line’.

The self-produced duo are inspired by the likes of Broods, Coin, and Laurel and after sourcing mixes from Joel Quartermain (G Flip, Jack River), Liam Quinn (Peach PRC), and James Christowski (Micra, Ioakim) to finish off their first few singles, youproblem is set to crash onto the alternative indie-pop scene with their lush, driving production, and relatable lyricism.
