xNOMADx
Formed in 2022 in Northampton, Massachusetts, xNOMADx was a Vegan Straight Edge metalcore band based in the Northeast United States.
Members were: Valerie (Vocals), Grady (Guitar), Bradley (Guitar), Shaye (Bass), and Anders (Drums).
The band played heavy melodic metalcore and had a myriad of influences including Day of Suffering, Die My Will, I Have Dreams, Ostraca, and bands active on the South Florida label Carry The Weight Records.
They released a Demo in April 2023 followed by an EP, On Skylines of Embers, in October of the same year, both released by Ephyra Recordings. xNOMADx made the decision to disband in late December 2023 / early January 2024 and played their final show at the Ephyra Showcase 2.0 on May 12th 2024.
The members are from across the Northeast of the USA. After moving to the Northeast for college, Grady met Anders at a show at Forrest Lodge VFW Hall and Club in Sellersville, PA on July 10th 2021. Anders added Grady to a groupchat with the other members of xNOMADx, where they decided to form the band in early 2022.
The band was initially going to be a continuation of Grady’s solo metalcore-turned-DnB project, xSHACx, but in summer of 2022 it was agreed to change the name to xNOMADx, a name suggested by Valerie. In other words, xNOMADx is what xSHACx was going to be. As a result, Grady wrote most of the instrumentation for the Demo and much of the EP however the music from xSHACx was not recycled. Their first practice was on October 22nd 2022, and the band went to Mindforce’s record release show together afterwards.
They were a three-piece (Valerie, Grady, and Shaye) during most of the songwriting process for the demo. Anders was the original drummer when the band formed but due to scheduling issues it didn’t work out and the band used a session drummer for the Demo. However, around four months later, he rejoined after the release of the demo along with Bradley.
