Tyrese Gentry, better known as Ty Balla, is a 26 year-old singer, rapper, and songwriter from The Bronx, New York. Known for his melodic versatility and emotionally driven music, Ty Balla has steadily built a loyal fanbase through his unique blend of R&B, melodic rap, and storytelling.

Beyond his music career, Ty founded High Volume Ent., a movement dedicated to creativity, independence, and artistic growth. Through his imprint, Balla Brother Records, he continues to release music while expanding his vision as both an artist and entrepreneur.

Before pursuing music, Ty was a dedicated basketball player with dreams of reaching the NBA. However, his life took a different path following the passing of his grandfather in 2015. The loss became a turning point, inspiring him to channel his emotions into music and pursue his passion full-time.

In June 2022, Ty Balla released his official debut album, “LOVED to DEATH,” marking the beginning of his professional music journey. Since then, the Bronx superstar has been featured on numerous stages, podcasts, and interviews, steadily growing his presence throughout the independent music scene.

Later that year, he released “August 28th, Vol. 3” on November 4, 2022—the final installment of his acclaimed trilogy EP series. The project served as a heartfelt tribute to his grandfather’s legacy and received recognition from Atlanta recording artist Kodie Shane, further elevating Ty’s profile.

In 2023, Ty expanded his musical horizons by traveling to Arizona, where he collaborated with artists such as Marcus Alex, JQ, NLU Turk, and J.We$. These experiences helped shape and evolve his sound, introducing new creative influences and perspectives.

Continuing his momentum, Ty Balla released his second studio album, “Fast Lane Musik,” followed by the melodic R&B-inspired project “Harmonies N’ Melodies” in late 2024. Both releases showcased his artistic growth, versatility, and commitment to creating music that resonates with listeners on a personal level.

With every project, Ty Balla continues to establish himself as one of the emerging voices from New York’s independent music scene, combining heartfelt lyricism, melodic innovation, and authentic storytelling into a sound that is uniquely his own.
