The Socket System is an experimental music duo consisting of Sivert Cat (socketlizard) from Lawndale, California & Cameron Crowe (TheAnySystem) from Colorado Springs, Colorado. The duo was formed in June of 2023 when Cameron proposed the idea of a collaboration album to Sivert. Cameron already had some experience making music, however it was mostly all comedic songs and parodies, along with a scrapped album entitled “Random Days.” Sivert had never made music before but music had been a big part of his life ever since his uncle introduced him to Rob Zombie at the age of 4. Sivert agreed, & almost immediately after the idea of this collaboration album was proposed, it turned into the idea of becoming a full-on music duo, and boom, TSS was born. They got to work on their first song “The New System,” which would be the lead single to their debut self-titled album. The next month Sivert created the “Skidmarx” collective alongside Cameron & a few others. The 2 were, & still are, very active in the collective & would often collaborate with other members & have songs on the collective’s projects. They released their debut self-titled album on January 1st, 2024 which gained small success, especially in Helsinki, Finland.

The duo’s music is a combination of experimental, electronic, alternative rap, & alternative rock, with their main inspirations being Tyler, The Creator, The Residents, Coldplay, & Gorillaz. Their music discusses real world issues & darker topics, as well as more fun & lighthearted topics. TSS’s main message is to stay creative and make the things you wanna make, and to treat everyone you meet with respect.
