Sorten Muld is a Danish folktronica band established in 1995 by the members Ulla Bendixen, Martin Ottosen og Henrik Munch in Aarhus, Denmark. It originated from a project by the city called “Futurepop”. Their music incorporates classical folk instruments, such as harps, bagpipes, flutes and violins, electronic music and dramatic lyrics. Many of the lyrics originate from Danish or other Scandinavian old folk songs, or is heavily inspired by these.
