SOBBRS

Mexico-born, Texas-raised, Los Angeles-based artist Jesús Acosta knows a thing or two about existing in between spaces. It’s in that limbo he discovered his voice as SOBBRS, an electro-pop outfit designed to wipe away your tears on the dancefloor.

His upcoming record “What’s Mine is Mine Pt. 1,” set to drop in Winter 2023, explores the complexities of revenge, as both an empowering and destructive force. Inspired by artists like Christine and The Queens and Empress Of, SOBBRS weaves together elements of electro-house and indietronica, while remaining firmly anchored in the realm of pop music.

Having opened for acts like Maggie Rogers and Cub Sport, SOBBRS has left audiences captivated with his equal parts energetic and emotional live performances. He’s been praised by AdWeek, Local Wolves, and The Austin Chronicle, who named him a “Pedro Almodóvar film come to life bringing teary-eyed heart-on-the-sleeve diva-pop”.

With a background in art direction, graphic design and photography, the multidisciplinary Acosta not only writes, co-produces and sings his songs, but also concepts his stage production, album covers, music videos, and promotional photographs as well. Acosta injects a DIY spirit in
everything he does and invites listeners into his fully-realized world as SOBBRS.
