Parvaaz

Parvaaz meaning ‘flight’ in urdu is an Indie psychedelic rock band hailing from bangalore,India.

Their discography is a repository of Kashmiri and Urdu poetry,with founding members Khalid Ahamed and Mir Kashif Iqbal coming together soon after to be joined by Sachin Banandur on drums and Fidel D’Souza on bass .With 3 albums in their repertoire and being named the most exciting band of India by the Rolling stones, Parvaaz continue to raise the bar for their fans ever since their first release in 2012!

Bharat Khashyap joined the band on guitar after the departure of co-founder Kashif Iqbal in 2021.

Their discography begins with the 5 track EP ‘Behosh’ released in 2012 and gave us a look into the minds of these passionate musicians.

In 2013 the single ‘Khufiya Dastaan’ was released,a song with dark progressive tunes.

Their debut album ‘Baran’ (meaning rain in persian) was fully crowdfunded by fans. It arrived as a haunting conversation, where kashmiri and urdu poetry found its home. The title track ‘Baran’ gave an insight to the moody prog leaning sound of the band. Singles like ‘Ab ki yeh subah’, ‘gul-gulshan’ and ‘ghaib’ became fan favourites.

In July 2015, Parvaaz co-produced their first feature length concert film/live album Transitions shot at the Jagriti Theatre, Bangalore, which included new songs ‘Color White and 'Shaad’ both released as singles in 2017.
The 90 minute concert was released in 2016.

Kun’ the self described Magnum opus of the band released in 2019 is an indescribable work centered around existence and existential crises.

Parvaaz’s latest release comes after 6 years, with their highly anticipated album, named ‘Na gul na gulistan’ released in the december of 2025.

The album transports the listeners into a world of confusion and distraught yet leaving them wanting more.
Parvaaz continue to perform all across the country and are keen on releasing even more music!
