Joseph Giovanni Tedeschi, professionally known as gio., is a Christian artist fusing pop and hip-hop sounds from the outskirts of Boston and based in Nashville, TN. Growing up, gio. was introduced to poetry, gospel music and later Christian Hip-Hop as a whole. Inspired by artists such as Andy Mineo and TobyMac, he began writing songs of his own.

Originally, gio. released his music under the name TheRealGio, which he stopped releasing under at the end of 2019. After restarting his music career from scratch, gio. debuted a two-track EP, Eclipse on February 21, 2020. It wasn’t until he released his breakthrough single, “burn for u,” that his music truly started to take off, getting featured on the Official Spotify Playlist, All New Christian & Gospel, out of nowhere. Later that year, on November 18th, 2022, gio. had his biggest moment yet, releasing “mess it up.” The single has gone on to gain over 20 million plays on Spotify alone over the years and is still one of his most popular songs. In April 2024, gio. signed with Capitol CMG, a major Christian record label.

His debut album, NOBODY ELSE, released on October 18, 2024, with a total of 14 tracks including collaborations with artists such as Henrik and 678NATH. The album has a consistent Christian theme, with some unique tracks such as “nineveh,” a song written in the perspective of Bible character Jonah, talking to God. The next year, in April 2025, gio. released JERICHO, a collaboration EP with Dell Mac, which featured a total of 5 tracks, one of which was a collaboration with LOGE. One of the songs from this EP, “oxygen,” was featured on the Official Spotify Playlist, New Music Friday, which was a big milestone for gio., especially it being a secular/non-christian playlist.
