AVGUST is a young, independent rapper from upstate New York with a passion for clever lyricism and vivid storytelling. He derives his wordplay-forward style many early idols, including Eminem, Lil Wayne, Drake, and J Cole. His unique double entendres and hidden metaphors are most apparent on songs like “Rabbit Hole,” “PK FIRE,” and “Me.” On tracks like “Birds” and “Vanilla Latte,” his mellow singing voice reflects more recent influences like tobi lou, Mac Miller, and Kota the Friend.

AVGUST (pronounced “August”) spent most of his childhood in Olean, New York. Though he never released any official music during his time in middle or high school, he started writing rap verses around the age of 11. After graduating, he attended Cornell University, where he began to release music on SoundCloud during his sophomore year. After a few singles, remixes, and small projects on SoundCloud, he began posting verses on TikTok, where he started to grow a following in 2020. Soon after this, he released his first single on all platforms in the summer of 2021 (“Vanilla Latte”). Since then, he has dropped a 7-song mixtape (“The Edible Complex”) and a handful of other singles, including two collaborations: with Brazilian artist Luca DL (“Top of the Morning”) and Canadian rapper, Akintoye (“Rabbit Hole”).
