MIKE uses the metaphor of touching someone’s heart with his music “through your rib seams”.

“Miskeen” is an Arabic-origin term used to describe a poor soul. The term has touched many parts of Africa and cultures surrounding it, meaning the same thing.
Miskeen (or miskin, miskīn):
poor, needy, or helpless, used with sympathy for someone downtrodden, innocent, or naive
The term is mainly in reference to a person who is struggling in a trying situation. One where they have very little control over.
As MIKE describes it; the missing piece in the household is the cause of this person struggle. The passing of the person brought about a big shift and in turn leading to the collapse of his dreams.
This might be a stretch, but sometimes when you’re writing rhymes it makes sense in your head but might not connect to the listener. But you still have to jot it down, can’t let it skip you. You can’t make sense of your thoughts if you don’t write them down, and sometimes you pick up on larger patterns in your own writing.
Seeing double from being cross faded
The “miskeen” is described to have no shoulder to cry on. Maybe this is due to the burden he holds with the role in his family and the sacrifices he made. Seeing as this is preceded by “crumble in your big dreams.” He would have had to make some sacrifices to no longer pursue that dream. Thus amplifying being a “poor soul.”
“Banshees” is a female spirit in Irish folklore who serves as an omen for the death of a family member. “Pickney” is a Caribbean term for child.
