[Intro]
Ooh, la la la la
I did you wrong (4x)
[Verse 1: Gil Wrayson]
Superstar, the critics be pannin'
Just like this EP, easily they would
If it was released, hey, maybe I should
I got permission for these sweet-ass beats
Bunch of fucking stoners calling me the next Keats
Wanna play Lucas, feel the girls' heartbeats
Then I condescend by reading some Keats
[Chorus]
My band of thieves crashing into some trees
Because my designated driver is high
Shucks
He tweeted, "Album's not completed,"
And that's because he's been busy getting high
Shucks
[Verse 2: Gil Wrayson]
I am the ringleader of this clan
Hide all our ghosts so we're spic and span
I hope someday I can write the next "Stan"
Wait, Tyler beat me to it; just joshing you, man
I'm name-dropping like your fake hipster friend
Fake motherfuckers bringing us the world's end
You got me floating like PM Dawn
Someone answer me, "Who the fuck is Sean?"
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
Ooh, la la la la
I did you wrong
(Ha, me and Sean about to tear shit up, bro. Alright, CeeTo-J. Uh.)
[Verse 3: CeeTo-J]
Ballin', soon to be ballin'
Legs spread out on the couch, I'm sprawlin'
Money be calling, woke up, didn't even shower
Smell like dank pussy power
Money on my mind, success on my mental
Bunny on the grind, bad head, give her dental floss
Lookin' like a boss
Cooking up a sauce, throw it up, no loss
Strippers at a cost like "Fuck Mr. Ross!"
And I don't give a fuck if you don't like us
Bullies used to take my lunch, I swear I never snitched
Now I'm 'bout to get rich rapping bout bullshit
So I'm eating out their bitch like
[Outro]
Ooh, la la la la
I did you wrong (2x)
My band of thieves crashing into some trees
Because my designated driver is high
Shucks
He tweeted, "Album's not completed,"
And that's because he's been busy getting high
Shucks
(cough)
Gil is pandering to his swooning female demographic by reading the work of the previously-mentioned John Keats, whose poems are well known for their sensual imagery.
Signature of the beat’s producer.
Gil is teasing the release of his EP, since there are a lot of fans waiting for his every release, right?

His success has made him feel like he’s floating on thin air.
This is also a reference to PM Dawn’s cover of Jimi Hendrix’s You Got Me Floatin'.

Gil is claiming that a number of pot-smoking rap fans are comparing his work to that of John Keats, a beloved English Romantic poet. Then again, if they’re stoned, that might mean they find it amazing when only under the influence of drugs.

Gil is referring to Tyler, The Creator, as usual, and his “crazed homosexual fan anthem,” Colossus, a song that many people, such as Anthony Fantano, have compared to “Stan.” The comparisons are fair, as both are about troubled young adults who idolize a rapper, have violent thoughts, and possible hints at homosexuality (okay, it’s pretty obvious that the fan in “Colossus” is gay for Tyler).
So, really, Gil doesn’t have to write a new “Stan,” as Tyler, The Creator has already done that. Ouch.

Then again, considering how much Gil himself loves Tyler’s music, this is probably just playful barbing. You know, like what Kendrick did to Tyler. So, by that logic, Tyler won’t say shit.
Gil means no disrespect to Tyler, probably because “Colossus” is actually his favorite Tyler, the Creator song:

Also, Tyler didn’t take too kindly to people comparing “Colossus” and “Stan.”

DAMMIT, WHO IS SEAN?!?!
Gil thinks the critics are going to react negatively to his EP very easily.
Referring to Lucas Beineke, the love interest of Wednesday Addams in the musical version of The Addams Family.
Gil actually wrote a whole song from the point-of-view of this character.
Playing off of the last line, Superstar is a 1999 comedy film starring Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell, that was based on Shannon’s beloved SNL character, Mary Katherine Gallagher. It was panned by critics, having a 32% on Rotten Tomatoes.

This could also mean that critics are negatively reviewing Gil Wrayson, a “superstar in the making.”
Technically. Gil used free beats for this song and Andy Griffith. He used beats from songs like Cowboy, Got My Mind Set On You, and Fancy for the rest of the Free Hugs EP, but due to those songs being labeled as “parody,” the songs could be monetized on YouTube. But since this song has a free beat, Gil didn’t need permission as long as he credited Tavis Moore.
A reference to the infamous Trinidad James lyric:
But here, he’s referring to comedic actress/SNL alumni Molly Shannon.

Despite being referred to as Janulis in previous Gil Wrayson songs, CeeTo-J makes his real rap name known.
Okay, going out of third person for a sec.
When people were auditioning for the role of Lucas Beineke, many of the females in attendance were gushing over how romantic his character’s dialogue was. Lucas was also the character I wanted to play, though I ended up playing Pugsley.
So, if I played Lucas, I would have a lot of girls fawning over me, or feel their heartbeats.
This could also be a sly double entendre; if I’m feeling their heartbeats, my hands would be on their chests, meaning I’m playing this character in order to hook up and go to second base with fangirls.
Possibly a jab at how Free Hugs started as an album back in December 2014, was reworked into an EP five months later, and is only now being announced as near completion. I mean, the first two songs from the EP were released in December in January, and the third song was released in May. Bit of a dry patch there, huh?
