Sysadmin is a musician, film producer, lyricist, writer, and community administrator best known for his work in the band unit SYSADMIN, his film production, and his work within Chinese Genius, a Chinese-language-based sub-community on the Genius website.

Music and film career

He started his work in the production field when he was attending high school. His first music production, “Alive,” was an instrumental track produced through GarageBand and was used as the theme song for his school project video.

On 22 May 2025, he released his first album, Calm Before the Storm, containing most of his work produced during the high school era. The album included one of his most well-known songs, “NEXT LEVEL,”, which is also the theme music of his film production, DARK SPACE series. In November 2025, he released his single, “future signal”, the theme music for the Government of Great Reform. The single was also included in his EP, colors of world, released in February 2026.

Administration career

Besides his work in music, he also served as a Transcriber, Editor, and Mediator on the Genius website, the chart editor for Genius Japan, and as the Administrator of Chinese Genius since 2022.

First presidency (2022)

He came into the administration of Chinese Genius (then known as Genius China) in March 2022 after a meeting with its founder, glitzy. During his administration, he briefly reworked the community’s official guideline, Formatting for Chinese Songs. In May 2022, he took an indefinite leave from the Genius website, 2small4damall and AlexDavas was named as the members of the leadership transitional council, while the former took the interim presidency during his absence.

Second presidency (2024–present)

On 18 July 2024, he returned to Genius and subsequently resumed his role as administrator. During his second administration, he reworked the guidelines again with further detailed information, hosted community discussions and voting, and guided users to join the community. The administration accomplished the addition of tags, the Chinese Genius rename, and the Chinese Genius forum, among many other updates.

In March 2026, he styled himself as the Administrator (Ad Interim On Duty) due to his unavailability to maintain activeness to Genius while studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
