Zonal used to be a side-project in 2000, but is now “the brainchild of Justin and Kevin’s works.” Zonal was formed and continues where Techno Animal left off, and combines a brutal ongoing obsession of beats, bass, dub, drone, noise, and riffs

Zonal started off as an official side project to Techno Animal in 2000, along with Sub Species, White Viper, Curse of the Golden Vampire, etc, releasing just one album by that time. Ever since Techno Animal had been abandoned in 2004, Zonal has still not been touched, until 13 years later Bug, and JK later connected again, instead of resurrecting Techno Animal back from the dead, they opted to start a new career as Zonal and have their first live show ever at the Supersonic Festival, playing some of their work back then. Later several Zonal performances included Moor Mother in, an artist whom they’d continue to collaborate with. 2 years later, Zonal signed to Relapse Records and began to issue material: some alongside Moor Mother, and some without. To this day, Zonal is still active and is ongoing.
