ZHERO

“I want you to know: you are not alone.”
This what the Italian indie-pop singer, songwriter & producer, Zhero has written himself on his Spotify bio.
Inspired by modern artists/bands such as Troye Sivan, Lana Del Rey, the 1975 and by rock legends like Pink Floyd, at 21-years-old, Ciro Manzari (Zhero’s real name) is becoming viral in the Indie Pop-scene thanks to his dreamy, dark and hypnotic electro-pop tracks like “Late Night Ride”. His mysterious Noir style, like the one in the official video of “In My Head”, caught the eye of the younger generation around the world and he totalized more than 120k views on Youtube, placing him in the pantheon of international upcoming Alt-pop singers.
It has all begun in 2018 for Zhero, when after winning the Puglia Sound Contest in Italy he released his debut album, “Oceanz”.
Zhero thinks music can be used as “real white magic” and singing is his way to speak directly to the heart of humans to set them free from negative energies. This passion for music has born after several traumatic experience with love and society that tested the songwriter:
“I wrote Oceanz after a sad love story I had with a boy when I was 16teen. My anger and pain turned to music and writing song literally healed me.”
Since then the singer’s purpose is to “find [and help] the other zheroes in the world” and, while he’s still building his career, he has already reached thousands of people around the world without any label behind – only him with a microphone and his laptop, composing and releasing songs, first from the same small bedroom where he has always lived, and then from a small flat in London after he moved in 2019.
“I still can’t believe Internet allowed me to be listened so much and then to help hundreds and thousands of people from the whole world.”
