Zac Woolley

AKA: Zachary Lawrence Woolley

Zac Woolley, best known for being the lead singer of London-based band DEADLETTER, released his first solo album under the name Zac Lawrence in 2023. Its title “The Hate” is a nod to live performances of the album beforehand, along with other artists (such as Poppy Richler, Alfie Husband, George Ullyott and Misty Miller) under the name “Zac Lawrence and The Hate”.
Lawrence claimed about his debut album in So Young Magazine:

If DEADLETTER is me howling at the moon in a far away valley, then this is me making small talk with a lamp in my bedroom.

On October 3rd 2025, Lawrence released his sophomore album titled “Beware Of Pity”. Throughout, Lawrence explores themes of childhood, loss, being true to yourself and the avoidance of looking back miserably in middle age and bemoaning squandered potential. These age old themes are visited with originality without leaning on the well-trodden, the hackneyed or the trite.
