AKA: Yuno Moodie, Carlton Moodie, Carlton Joseph Moodie
Carlton Joseph Moodie, known professionally as Yuno, is a multifaceted musician, singer, producer, and visual artist hailing from Jacksonville, Florida. Born to Jamaican parents from the UK, Yuno has crafted a distinctive sound that seamlessly blends elements of indie pop, hip-hop, R&B, and rock.
As a teen, he taught himself how to play guitar and learned how to make beats from his cousin. Yuno is very hands-on with his art, on top of writing, recording, and producing all of his music—he also creates all of the accompanying visuals, from album art to music videos. His musical journey began in 2010 when he started self-releasing tracks on Bandcamp, including singles such as “Sunlight” and the dreamy R&B-inspried track “Grapefruit”.
In 2018, Yuno’s talent caught the attention of Sub Pop Records, leading to the release of his debut EP, Moodie. The EP garnered critical acclaim for its eclectic mix of genres and introspective lyrics, with standout tracks like “No Going Back” amassing millions of streams.
Despite his initial reclusive nature, Yuno’s transition from creating music in isolation to performing live on tours has earned him a dedicated following. His artistic journey reflects a blend of cultural influences and personal introspection, establishing him as a unique voice in the contemporary music scene.
