Yoshimasa Takahasi, better known as Yoshi T., is an artist that skillfully blends together the worlds of Rap, Hip-Hop, Pop, and Alternate R&B, gathering attention globally for his unique style. Born in LA and currently based in NYC, Yoshi T. has been making music since the age of 16, discovering his love for Hip-Hop when he moved to New York.

In an interview with Gregory Castel (Ones to Watch), Yoshi T. expresses that his music is inspired by Jordan Ward and Teezo Touchdown, stating that their confidence in the music industry is “making it even cooler to be weird.”

When Yoshi T. was in high school, he and his friends Jackson August, Elijah Judah and Cisco Swank had all become friends and wanted to create a rap group, so the idea for WHATMORE? was formed, citing BROCKHAMPTON as being the inspiration for this move. After high school is when each of the members really started to develop their own sounds and pave the way for their musical careers, all of them asking other members to contribute to their creations, leading to incredible chemistry between the WHATMORE? family.
