Xavier López (born October 23, 2003), professionally known as xaviersobased, is an American recording artist and record producer from the Upper West Side, New York City, New York. He is the founder of the underground collective 1c, which he prominently reps throughout his music and online persona in many different forms.

xaviersobased grew up in a musical household, as his mother was a house DJ through the 80s until the early 2000s, making performances at parties around Manhattan. He began making music early in his childhood at the age of nine, being inspired to make beats by renowned 808 Mafia producer Lex Luger. He was strictly a producer for the next five years until 2017 when he tried rapping over his beats, recording in Soundtrap using a pair of earbuds.

In an interview with tightundercoverjeans, xaviersobased explains the origin of his stage name, which is derived from underground rap circles he listened to:

it was a name i made while making an icloud account
i was bumping hella based shit at the time
like [Lil B] and [Ocean Gang] type shit
i was like 13 or 14
actually younger

xavier made his musical debut on June 8, 2016, when he released “;;;;;;;;;;,” a self-produced trap instrumental onto SoundCloud. His page remained dormant for the next two years until June of 2018, when he released his debut vocal performance, “YOU KNOW ME AND MY NIGGAS IN THE PARTY DON’T FUCK WITH LAMES BITCH.” After releasing one more track, going into 2019, he would make a new SoundCloud page and release all of his music on that page from there onwards. He posted a slew of singles before dropping his debut tape, store in early 2021. In an interview with Kingmil the 8 God, xavier explains how this tape was a turning point for his career, as songs off the tape garnered thousands of streams which gave him motivation to continue pushing music.

Around this time, xavier had made widespread connections in the underground scene, joining the then-booming hyperpop collective NOVAGANG, making a song with Luci4—a fellow acclaimed underground artist—then joining his collective JEWELXXET, and making a song with one of his inspirations, Lil B.

xavier’s music began to gain traction in late 2022 and early 2023 after his mixtape install was released. The kashpaint-produced “patchmade” would explode in popularity on TikTok, causing an influx of artists to make similar songs which also saw success on the platform. After releasing keep it goin xav and with 2 several songs off these tapes would seek success as well—notably “Need Me,” “Special,” “Softer,” and “love hate”—enabling him to perform at big-time concerts such as Rolling Loud. He would then earn himself a record deal with Atlantic Records and would release his first major-label project once more, which serves as a prelude to his debut studio album Xavier, which saw an official release on January 30, 2026. Songs such as “worth it” and “uncomfy” with OsamaSon off once more would further boost xavier’s recognition through social media.

xaviersobased has a very distinct, abstract, and experimental sound in his music, rapping about various topics on a wide range of different instrumentals. He accredits this to fellow underground artists and simply his creativity, stating:

I take a lot of inspiration from Drain Gang, not gonna lie. Bladee and a lot of the producers. […] Slayworld too, I was listening to a lot of Slayworld. […] Summrs, Kan, all of them. […] I couldn’t even really describe [my sound], because it’s just my shit. It’s my shit. […] Every time I get on FL, I try to do something different, something I ain’t do before.
