WALWIN
AKA: Arthur René Walwin
Influenced by the mid 00’s emo scene (bands like Paramore, Mayday Parade & Taking Back Sunday), WALWIN has been a staple of the UK’s alternative scene for the past decade as an artist, writer and producer of many influential records. Writing & recording songs for artists like Emma Blackery, Charlie Simpson (Busted,Fightstar) & As December Falls whilst also releasing their own music & touring across the UK, Europe and the US.
WALWIN grew up in Essex, just on the outskirts on London, and spent their entire teenage years in and out of different alternative bands and learning a range of different instruments before studying music production and eventually opening a home recording studio. All of their releases have been self produced and even other aspects of the releases i.e. artwork and video editing have all been a solo endeavour.
After releasing a string of pop hit singles throughout 2018, WALWIN took a break from music to pursue photography and filmmaking where they shot for artists like Lizzy Farrall & Nova Twins and have had their work published in The Guardian, BBC, Premier Guitar & Discovered to name a few.
WALWIN’s latest singles Shame & A Loser In Jordans were released in early 2021 and received instant praise as they were featured on several Spotify & Apple Music editorial playlists including New Music Friday & Breaking Rock.
