VERIDIA is a Christian American alternative rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. Formed in 2013, the group started with Deena Jakoub (vocals), Brandon Brown (guitar), Trevor Hinesley (guitar), and Kyle Levy (drums). The name of the band comes from the Latin word ‘veritas,’ which means ‘truth.’ Jakoub spoke of the name in an interview:

Veridia means ‘of truth.’ It’s our creed, to strive for raw honesty in all that we do, being true to ourselves, the ones we love and in our music.

Around 2013, VERIDIA was signed to Curb/Word Entertainment and released their debut EP, Inseparable, early the following year. In 2015, their follow-up EP, Pretty Lies, was released, which led to the band opening for Evanescence.

In 2017, VERIDIA announced that they would be partnering with Razor & Tie studios to record their first full-length album. Though recorded at a major label, the band received funding through their fans via PledgeMusic and released the album independently. In 2018, their debut full-length album, The Beast You Feed was released. This would be their only full-length album to be released.

In 2020 they would release their first single in two years, which would be the first of several singles that would end up on their 2022 EP Pain Reliever.

In 2023 frontwoman Deena Jakob announced the band would no longer be touring or producing music, save for one final release as a bow on the band’s tenure. On February 9, 2024 VERIDA released their final song titled: “When the Moon Dies.”
