April Harper Grey (born April 21, 2000), professionally known as underscores, is an American singer-songwriter and producer from San Francisco, and member of music collective six impala. underscores began composing and recording music when she was six years old.

In 2021, she released her debut album, fishmonger, which features a variety of different genres, such as indie rock, bedroom pop and ambient music. Later on that year she released a sequel to fishmonger, titled boneyard aka fearmonger.

In 2023, April announced the start of a new era of music called Wallsocket. The album was inspired by a fictional town in Michigan that is part of an ongoing ARG she created. The album era would conclude in 2024 with the release of Wallsocket (Director’s Cut which included four new songs.

In 2026, April would release her third studio album, eponymously titled U. The album was recieved extremely well critically, with listeners citing the blend of electronic and pop music.
