nami is an underground artist from Baltimore, known for creating music that blends EDM, dance, and hyperpop influences.

He grew up listening to bands like Nirvana and Green Day before expanding his taste to pop and rap during his teenage years. In 2019, he began exploring hyperpop, drawing inspiration from artists like kid sora and Hella Sketchy.

Before making music, nami ran a YouTube channel called “Shadow Optics”, where he created anime music videos (AMVs). In 2020, he started producing music with FL Studio, learning with help from friends. Under the name “toshi” (also known as “prodbytoshi”), he produced beats for underground artists, including i9bonsai’s song “ur name”.

Later, he rebranded as nami and launched a new project, releasing his first song under the name, “you”. In 2022, he shifted focus toward vocals, releasing tracks like “addict” and “PAPARAZZI”, both featuring d3r.

Nami mainly collaborates with pearlblade for the production of his songs, along with other producers, blood pup and wasty.
