Tub Ring

Suicidal robots, various technological-religious fusions, and searches for extraterrestrial life only scratch the surface of Tub Ring’s many zany, futuristic, and cosmological themes.

Showcasing the unique sci-fi lyricism penned by lead vocalist Kevin Gibson, genre-mashing experimentalism masterminded by keyboardist Rob Kleiner, and incredible talent from a medley of musicians over the years, Tub Ring synthesizes an iconic sound that is, while erratic, uniquely and distinctly theirs.

After several demos in the ‘90s, the band finally came into their style in 2001 with the release of their first (or was it third?) album, Drake Equation, produced by Mr. Bungle guitarist Trey Spruance. They continued to release albums throughout the '00s, each one a bit different than the last, until their break-up in 2010 after Secret Handshakes. It would be 7 more years before fans received a new album, A Choice of Catastrophes, when a Kickstarter from Gibson and Kleiner saw passionate support for a new EP and “best of” compilation vinyl.

Known for their high-energy and eccentric live performances, Tub Ring was often seen touring alongside acts such as Mindless Self Indulgence, Foxy Shazam, and Dog Fashion Disco.
