TreeJay, born Bryan Johnson, was Mac Miller’s close friend, hype-man, and digital media manager—an essential part of Mac’s Most Dope team.

TreeJay founded his YouTube channel TreeJTV around early 2009, which largely served as Mac’s YouTube channel as well; all of Mac’s music videos were uploaded to TreeJTV for many years. However, the channel was rebranded entirely from TreeJTV to solely Mac Miller’s artist channel channel around 2017.

From 2010–2018, TreeJay also annually hosted weed-themed mixtapes that would release every 4/20; each mixtape featured Mac Miller as well as friends and close associates of his.

When Mac passed away in 2018, it was stated in his will that all of his clothing and electronics were left to TreeJay, meaning TreeJay got all of his laptops and hard drives with music. Shortly after Mac’s passing, Mac’s unreleased music began surfacing online…
