Treebeard was a post-hardcore band from Ashland, Missouri that was active from 2010 to 2014. The group was led by Alex Kelly, who is currently known for his successful rap career under the name Oliver Francis.

The band’s members and their respective roles were as follows: Alex Kelly (Vocals), Matt Cole (Vocals), Jordan Parks (Drums), Chris Rucker (Bass), and Nick Berthold (Guitar). Ian Vardell was also a member, though he departed from the group for unknown reasons in 2012.

During the band’s four year run, they put out one full-length project, one extended play, multiple demos, and even headlined their own summer tour, garnering a small but loyal fanbase.

Despite their mild success, the group would dissolve in 2014 without a formal announcement. In a 2018 interview with Masked Gorilla, Oliver cited lack of commitment from the band’s other members as being one of the reasons for the disbandment:

Being in that band was like a nightmare. I’d always be getting mad at dudes. Like, I’d be at practice and they’d be not answering.
