Top of the Pops was a weekly music show that ran on BBC between 1964 and 2006, featuring performances by many of pop, rock, and soul’s biggest names. A series of compilation albums were put out between 1968 and 2006, though these had no connection with the television show and often featured performances of hit singles by cover bands.
