Tom Skeemask, born Thomas Walker, is a rapper from Orange Mound, Memphis, TN, and a key figure in the city’s underground rap scene. As the leading figure in DJ Squeeky’s Mo Cheda camp, Skeemask cemented his status as a local legend before expanding his reach to a national audience. His debut release, “Niggas Watch Your Back / Gonna Make Changes,” was followed by 2 Wild for the World, a breakthrough album that achieved modest success across the South without radio airplay. His follow-up album, You Can’t Hold Me Back, was released in 2001, showcasing DJ Squeeky’s production.

After You Can’t Hold Me Back, Skeemask parted ways with Mo Cheda Records to establish his own label, 2 Wild Entertainment. Under this new label, he released four more albums and a Da Memphis Squad compilation. In 2011, he collaborated with fellow Memphis artist Mr. Sche, and while his appearances became more sporadic afterward, Skeemask returned in 2021 with a 7-track EP.
