Tjaka is a trailblazing music trio from Meanjin/Brisbane, consisting of two Fabila brothers, Geoff and Jake, and their close friend Felix Fogarty. The name Tjaka is derived from Tjakamarra, the skin name given to the Fabila brothers, who are proud descendants of the Jabirr Jabirr tribe in the Western Australian Kimberley.

Their music style is a fusion of electronic and hip-hop sounds blended with Aboriginal ancestral influences. Their vision is to showcase the connection between the old and
the new by creating music that is both deeply connected to their Aboriginal heritage and thoroughly modern in its delivery.

Their high-energy bangers introducing the use of Didjeribone (a slide didgeridoo, similar to a trombone), electronic beats, and lava-hot rap flow, which melt audiences in a crucible of funk, reggae, and dance. The FaceBass, a seismic microphone used inside Geoff’s mouth, adds a unique bass sound to the music and enhances the traditional Aboriginal elements.
