Born November 1, 2001, Zachary Willams, commonly known as Zach, “thornskin” and formerly known as “imsoproudofyou” is a 24 year-old emo/alternative rock, trap-rock, post-punk, grunge, zoomergaze, shoegaze, indie rock artist and producer who currently resides in Orlando, Florida.

There is a misconception that “Thornskin” is a band, but in actuality, Zach is a solo artist that self produces his own music. Thornskin has been producing music since he was 19 when he went by “imsoproudofyou” in his bedroom.

On July 15, 2026, DeepOctober released a Backrooms edit of his song “I feel strange” (which was produced by Thornskin when he went under the moniker “Imsoproudofyou”). Zach jokingly replied “whatever happened to Imsoproudofyou dude he was cool”. The last song Zach produced as “Imsoproudofyou” was a remix of Faded Winds’s “Important”.

He came up with the name “Thornskin” after thinking about it for an hour. In Zach’s own words it means “abrasive, hard to touch”. It’s how he sees himself. Something that hurts to touch when you get too close. In 2023 he created his label “REAL LOVE INC”. The best way to describe him (in his own words) would be “gothic punk”.

He has over 1.5 million listeners, 1.2 million streams. He is best known for his songs “THANKXSOMUCH”, “It won’t matter”, “to death”, and “driving with no brakes”.
