The Simps is a duo composed of Filipina artists Eyedress and ZZZahara.

In an interview granted to the media Weirdo Music Forever, Eyedress explains that the name of the group comes from Tay-K’s “The Race”, in which we find this cult ad-lib :

Bitch, I’m drawin' doodles, Tay-K, paint the way (You’re a simp)

Even though it’s usually a pejorative word, the group thinks that being a “simp” — which means being too sensitive, especially about love — should not be shameful. It’s a philosophy that characterizes their music well since most of their songs are about their emotions in a rather sensitive and vulnerable way.

After their first collaboration in 2020, which came in the form of the song “On Fye”, The Simps announced their debut album Siblings for March 2022, with the lead single “Tesla”. Despite what this title suggests, Eyedress and ZZZahara are not brother and sister, at least not by blood.
