The Pilot Waves is an indie rock band from St. Petersburg, FL. Their current lineup is Tristan Jarvis (guitar and vocals), Rob Kelley (bass), Brad Sumner (guitar), and TC Smith (drums).

The band describes the reasoning for the group’s name and ethos on Ashtray Monument:

“Taking their name from the pilot-wave theory of quantum mechanics and applying it in a philosophical context, The Pilot Waves’ sound incorporates elements of 60’s psychedelia and 90’s alternative, with a focus on emotionally driven melodies.
Their music is a diverse yet cohesive spectrum of sound and dynamics, utilizing and placing inherent emphasis on the hermetic principles that govern ‘the whole’.”
