Terius Youngdell Nash (born September 20, 1977), better known as The-Dream is a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and record producer who is known for his impactful contributions to modern R&B and pop music.

He first became famous for co-writing Rihanna’s 2007 number-one hit “Umbrella,” which launched him to fame and marked the beginning of a lucrative career as a songwriter. His writing is behind some of the biggest 21st-century hits, including Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, JAY-Z, and Ciara.

As a solo artist, The-Dream followed up with a string of critically acclaimed albums, beginning with Love/Hate (2007), followed by Love vs. Money (2009), Love King (2010), and IV Play (2013).

He can quite literally juggle songwriting, vocals, and production. His impact on the R&B sound of the 2000s and 2010s is huge, this includes his writing technique, melodic sensibility, and vocal production.
