The Backfires are an indie/alternative-rock band based in New York, New York. Its members include Alex Gomez (Vocals), Harry Ruprecht (Guitar), Matt Walter (Bass), and Dylan Spiro (Drums).

The band debuted with the release of the track Anything, with The Man releasing shortly after. Following this, they released a debut EP, Consider The Backfires, containing both singles as well as four new tracks.

Following this, they released numerous singles, including Reflections On My TV, Joyride, and Blindsided.

Later, the band went on to release four singles, with the announcement of their debut album This Is Not An Exit, releasing on January 24, 2025. This also came with a tour announcement, beginning on January 26 and ending on March 15 of the same year.

Now, with The Backfires gaining traction with almost 2M listens to Blindsided, they have been invited to play The Governors Ball 2025 on Saturday, being featured with other artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Wallows, and Marina.
