Although many of its songs have been labeled “folk”, and are based around acoustic and electric guitar, they’re characterized by their glitch-filled production and dense lyricism, often packed with grandiose verbiage.

Its 2023 song laurel gained notoriety in online spaces, marking thatcher’s shift in focus to work its upcoming debut album, atharraich, as its lead single and first song on streaming services. Thatcher has also previously collaborated with various electronic producers such as xaev, vai5000 and edyn.
