Tex Crick
Tex Crick is a multi-instrumentalist based in Tokyo, Japan. Originally from Sydney, Australia, Tex was born in 1994 and started his career in music as the keyboardist for artists such as Iggy Pop, Weyes Blood, and Connan Mockasin. Tex is known for his easy-listening, keys-based sound that has drawn comparisons to Randy Newman and Harry Nilsson.
Tex released his debut record, “Between Cruel & Tender”, on March 15 2017. While on tour with Connan Mockasin, Crick met Mac DeMarco. Crick would later become the first artist to sign to Mac’s Record Label, releasing his first album on the label, “Live In… New York City”, on March 26 2021. The album was recorded in 2018 in Crick’s apartment in New York City.
Recorded in an attic studio in Tokyo, the album “Sweet Dreamin'” was released on October 13 2021. “Droplet”, released on November 15 2024, became Crick’s third release on Mac’s Record Label. Recorded in Long Island, New York, this album consisted entirely of instrumentals.
