Jadyn Rodriquez (born October 31, 2003), professionally known as tenkay, is an American recording artist and record producer hailing from Houston, Texas.

tenkay explained the origins of his career in a 2022 interview with tightundercoverjeans, detailing how he began rapping as early as eighth grade, making songs for fun as he had a friend from school who was a producer. He made songs off and on in his sophomore year of high school but didn’t take music seriously until 2020 when he got a computer and met underground artists chaosysl and osei, later joining their collective, #twilight. In the same interview, he reveals his stage name, tenkay, was derived from the Georgia rapper 10KDunkin.

In the year following, he would branch out and become close friends with xaviersobased, joining his collective 1c34 and making numerous songs with other members of the group such as phreshboyswag, cranes, and ksuuvi, but would later leave following internal conflict.

His career would begin to take off in mid-2023 when his song “Shoppin Spree” alongside Acid Souljah would go viral on TikTok. Around this time, the two become closer friends and tenkay would go on to join Based Negative Squad, a collective Acid Souljah is heavily affiliated with.
