Tay-K

AKA: Tay-K 47, Taymor McIntyre, Taymor T. McIntyre, Taymor Travon McIntyre

Taymor Travon McIntyre (born June 16, 2000), professionally known as Tay-K, is an American rapper and songwriter originating from Arlington, Texas.

Tay-K started his rap career as part of the rap group Daytona Boyz alongside rappers PiMPYZ and Santana Sage in 2014. The group released their first track “Drift” on SoundCloud in December 2014. The group released a series of songs, barely getting attention as they performed at various parties attempting to create a presence in the local rap scene. Tay-K began to get nationwide attention due to his conflicts with the law.

On July 26, 2016, Tay-K and six other people were arrested on murder charges due to a home invasion gone wrong. The juvenile rapper was placed under house arrest. Eventually, Tay-K decided to flee the law. Before cutting off his ankle monitor and going on the run, Tay-K took to Twitter and tweeted the following:

fuck dis house arrest shit fuck 12 they gn hav 2 catch me on hood

Tay-K made his way to Elizabeth, New Jersey where he recorded his hit song “The Race.” On June 30, 2017, he was captured by the U.S Marshal Service in New Jersey. While awaiting for trial, Tay-K’s team would release his only commercial mixtape #SantanaWorld on July 17, 2017, which would go onto debut and peak at #128 on the Billboard 200, with a deluxe version being released on December 13, 2017. On July 23, 2019, Tay-K was sentenced to 55 years in prison. He will not be eligible for parole until he serves at least half of his sentence. Then on April 16, 2025, almost six years after Tay-K’s conviction, he was then sentenced to an additional 80 years in prison for another murder case that happened while on the run.

Since his arrest, his management team still continued to release tracks such as “The Race (Remix)” assisted by fellow artists 21 Savage and Young Nudy, “Hard” featuring No Jumper and BlocBoy JB, and “After You.”

Eight years after the release of “After You” and “Hard,” Tay-K’s team would go onto release “Half Off,” “Lay Low,” and “Coolin” on all streaming platforms, which revealed that Tay-K is no longer under 88 Classic and is now under the independent label broke.
