SYK Project is an independent melodic heavy metal act from Ankara.

The band released their first single ‘All Over Again/On My Canvas’ in 2008. That was followed by the release of their earlier work, ‘Capital Punishment’ and ‘Avalanche’ as full-length studio albums in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Most of their singles, namely ‘Law & Order/Model Horse’ (2009), ‘Based On Lies’ (2010), ‘Naiad’ (2012), ‘Rom/Joining the Pack’ (2017), and ‘Occult Rituals/Witchcraft 1984’ (2021), were later collected on the album ‘Joining the Pack – Singles Compilation’ (2021).

It took the band almost three years to write and record their fourth album ‘Night Shift’ (2023) due to the C-19 pandemic and other reasons. Their latest album ‘Scents of the Past’ hit the shelves in February 2026.

Perhaps the most significant characteristic of SYK Project’s music is the masterful use of melancholy, which has become their trademark sound over the years. Their poetic lyrics are often dark and introspective, covering a variety of themes such as human psychology and social issues.
