Sweet Pill – arguably one of the most promising up-and-coming leaders of the revived emo scene – is a band that hails from Philly. Their music is gritty, packed with rightful fury, and made all the more powerful by the amazing range/variety of the lead vocalist’s powerful sound. At times, their songs bring in unique rhythms layered below softspoken vocals to the genre, and at other moments, their music is riddled with heavy distortion and ear-worm melodies. Don’t forget their rad production strategies (i.e. the echoey quality of vocals and electric guitar on “Cut”).
