Stray Currents is the recording project of Chicago-based singer/songwriter and producer, Jimmy O’Meara. Born out of his Georgetown University dorm room, the project details the emotions that come with unrequited love, growing up, and experiencing loss. Stray Currents combines the raw indie vibes of bedroom pop with the piano-based rock of the early 2000s. Inspired by the likes of John Mayer, Jack’s Mannequin, The Fray, and Ben Folds, Stray Currents strives to provide a nostalgically modern sound with pop/rock leanings. With the release of the self-titled debut album, Stray Currents has emerged onto the scene offering a vulnerable catchiness to the tune of heartbreak.
