Steven Kou (born November 2, 2004) is a lovers rock/R&B artist hailing from the west side of O’ahu, Hawai’i. As a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer all in one, he aims to make art that represents a new perspective in Hawai’i music.

Steven Kou, born Steven Javier, is a Filipino-Kama'aina who was born and raised in Manila before moving to Hawai’i at the age of ten. Kou studied electrical engineering at the University of Hawai’i Mānoa, citing the hard course load as the drive for him using music as an escape. Kou’s debut singles released in 2023 gained him traction, before releasing his debut EP Ala Wai State of Mind. His most recent release is 2025’s “Harana,” named after the singing-based act of Filipino courtship.
