Stereopony was an all-female Japanese alternative rock band formed in Okinawa in 2007. Consisting of AIMI (vocals/guitar), NOHANA (bass), and SHIHO (drums), they defined the late 2000s J-pop and pop-punk scenes. With hit tracks featured on anime juggernauts like Bleach and Mobile Suit Gundam 00, their energetic power pop sound left a lasting global impact. The trio initially played under the name Mixbox before adopting the name Stereopony. They were discovered by the Japanese radio show SCHOOL OF LOCK!!, quickly launching them into the mainstream. They officially debuted in November 2008 with the single “Hitohira no Hanabira”, which peaked at Number 25 on the Oricon Weekly Charts.
