Stanley Ray

Stanley Ray Moore JR (BabyBoy), born November 4, 1998, is an American Independent Artist, singer, songwriter, and actor. Growing up, Stanley immediately discovered his love for music, leading him to begin dancing in the mirror and pretending to be on stage to fully embody the persona and natural stage presence of a real singer. He listened to a ton of old music by artists like Al Green, Average White Band, S.O.S Band, Patti LaBelle, Stephanie Mills, The Isley Brothers, and more. But his particular favorite groups were Destiny’s Child and TLC.

The year 2007, at the age of 8, he began making his own music, using his family’s small camcorder that stored memory on a small blue SD chip. As YouTube was just emerging as a platform for streaming videos, he discovered how to look up blank instrumental beats and sing along to them while recording the audio. He was a kid who always knew how to make the best of his limited resources and just using whatever he had, despite the quality being distorted. His passion for making his own music gave him a drive that wouldn’t let him just sit around and wait. He was determined to keep making music no matter what he had to use to do so. Through out the rest of his elementary, jr high, and high school years he continued writing and recording, which totalled up to over 100+ demo songs he’d completed by then.

He stopped recording demos at the age of 18 during his last semester of his senior year of highschool in 2017 because he knew he was about to set out to start recording an actual album and become a real singer. Once he graduated, he moved to Vegas to give it a shot at getting into the music and acting industry. But he only ended up staying a couple months and came back home after things didn’t go as planned. In late 2018, when he was 19, he started production for his album. Still not having an actual studio or a lot of money, he ended up recording his songs using a studio app from his android phone, while also working as a waiter and cashier, saving up only a little over $1,000 and then silently flying to Los Angeles in September of 2019 at the age of 20. While putting the final touches on his album, he also was constantly searching and applying for jobs on set for roles as an extra and background actor and also spending most nights up late looking up Marketing Agencies and PR Companies who could help him market and promote his album and get airplay on mainstream radio.

January 4, 2020, his debut album “BabyBoy” was officially released on all music streaming platforms independently. That same month, he also booked his 1st official paid job on set as an extra. Stanley released 4 official singles from his album, “tinderlinderlover”, “Lavender Boy”, “Being With You”, and “Wild Lovin'”, all followed up with music videos for each single, which he took the risk and shot each one of them low budget from his phone. A year later, on October 24th, 2021, Stanley released his sophomore LP “Scorpio Sessions”. It produced 3 singles, “CRUSH”, “love on me”, and the title track, “Scorpio Sessions”. After this release, he landed on Spotify’s “Release Radar” and “Discover Weekly” for the first time, as well as catching the ears of radio personnels on the internet, such as DJ CULTURE and DJ CLUE of Desert Storm Radio. On August 31, 2023 he released his 3rd album “This Is Me”. The album was led by its lead single “Attractive”, helping him land on Spotify’s “Release Radar” for the 2nd time, as well as “Spotify Radio”. Ray pointed out that this time around his album made fast circulation locally around his home town Mount Vernon, IL where he was born and raised, something he says “didn’t happen with the first 2 albums” he released. This was confirmed when multiple people shared his album online, followed by him landing a spot inside and on the cover of the local Mount Vernon Sentinel newspaper on 2 different occasions, just 3 weeks after his albums release. Months later, during the week of June 2-8, 2024, “Attractive” would debut at Number 1 on BMS Radio’s Dope Urban Jamz Chart, a popular Internet Radio Station that plays both Indie Artists and Mainstream Artists. Stanley continues to reach great success rising as a young talent in the music industry.

November 4, 2024, Ray released his long anticipated debut Christmas album “A Stanley Ray Christmas”, along with the albums only single “Why I Love Christmas So Much” also being released on the same day. Receiving only positive reviews at the time of its release, it’s an album described as a personal Love letter to the holiday Christmas. Ray wrote and sings all of the songs from the perspective of Christmas being a physical presence in his life and as if it’s someone he can spend time with, rather than singing about it being just a holiday that’s celebrated only once a year. The unique and passionate perspective and approach of all the songs lyrics immediately made the album stand out. The music video for “Why I Love Christmas So Much” premiered on YouTube on Christmas day.

December 9, 2025, he released his 5th album titled “Revelation,” alongside the albums first and lead single “SongBite.”
