Srinjay Dey (born 3rd January 2003, in Kolkata, India), formerly known by his stage name Crzwn (pronounced “Crown”), is a rapper, lyricist, producer and songwriter representing Kolkata’s underground hip-hop scene. He began his musical journey at 16, writing his first rap in 2019. With a multicultural background rooted in Bengali, shaped by Hindi-speaking peers, and enriched by exposure to diverse global music influences, Srinjay developed the ability to write and perform fluently in Hindi, English, and Bengali.

Inspired by a wide array of genres—from Hip-Hop to RnB, Funk, Soul, Reggae, Blues, and Rock & Roll—Srinjay released his last solo track in 2021 before stepping back for a three-year hiatus. This period became a transformative chapter, allowing him to experiment with new sounds, deepen his artistic perspective, and evolve his identity. Emerging from this phase of self-discovery, he embraced a mononymous name, “Srinjay,” signaling a new chapter in his journey.

In 2024, he co-founded CatchKawla, a Bengali hip-hop duo with fellow artist Cubist. Their debut EP, ‘CatchKawla I’, born from a spontaneous collaboration, highlights Srinjay’s ability to bring Bengali lyricism into contemporary hip-hop, adding a fresh dimension to his evolving artistry.
