“spiritofdash” is the musical persona adapted by former livestreamer / social media creator Jacob Dash. After accumulating hundreds of thousand followers across multiple platforms, Dash disappeared from social media in 2019. He silently returned in 2022 by uploading his music to SoundCloud, something he spoke of wanting to do for a long time. (He previously posted a song to SoundCloud in 2017 under the username jac4b) Hailing from the 251 area of lower Alabama, Dash differs from the traditional sound held by most Alabama artists. Blending short, sad, powerful interlude style songs, with short ignorant rap songs that are accompanied by hyperpop / plugg beats, Dash created a unique sound and style with what he had to work with. His debut mixtape “thanatopsis” released on SoundCloud in early 2023. Since then hes branched out to all streaming platforms, and released a few singles along the way. He has teased a part two to his mixtape “thanatopsis” multiple times on SoundCloud.
