Soultech
Soultech is an anonymous artist from Scotland who started posting music in 2019.
Although having made many albums, EPs and compilation, only 4 of his releases are widely available, with almost everything pre 2022 only being on youtube.
Soultech started off on YouTube, and posted a track that was a Launchpad Preset Pack he had been recording while playing. Then in August of 2019, a track named Zirobiophoxin was released, with an obscure music video, followed by the release of Chapter EP. In October, Headache EP was released, and then Regarde Moi in December.
Following into 2020, he released his Vomit EP on YouTube (and Soundcloud, which was later deleted) under his label, Davidson MMXX Recordings. This EP had a super deluxe release in March. Then a double album followed, Black SUnset/£100. Then he collaborated with Crups ay лол to make “Big Red Spinny Thing”. In November, he released yet another album, EDIT 5, followed by a mixtape released on BandLab in December titled “2020 st +5 mAsters”.
In February, 2021, Soultech released NOISE, his 5th album, with collaboration from Experiment Hana and Crups ay лол. A couple of months later, as teased with the album, a maxi single was released titled “Selected”, which featured on his 6th album, AMALGAMATION. Then, MAGNET was released in December, which was later reworked by Soluxus in 2023. The XDV edition included 9 more songs, and Mollura got a lot of attention from this album, due to its sample of “The Magnus Archives” famous lines that went viral on TikTok.
In 2022, Soultech had seemingly went silent, until November 2022 where he released a single under his own name on Streaming Services titled “Perpetual Motion/All Switches Are Off”, which were revealed to be a promotional single for his “debut” album, “new heights”. During this time, he recorded 2 demo tapes for the two new albums in 2023.
Come January 2023, the album “new heights” was released, and was “the first album to get proper recognition from anyone outside his family and friends.” (from his YouTube). In March 2023, Ximer was released, a remix album for New Heights. In April, he released a small compilation on Soundcloud named “soultech remixn vol I”, which featured 5 remixes by artists like JACKIE EXTREME, Aphex Twin and Billie Eilish, followed by the single “Participating in Sport”. In July 2023, Soultech released another small BandLab mixtape, titled “NKB +3 2023 I”, which featured the main “nice kicks bro”, the demo of his New Heights outtake, “AbdelAbdonisVC”. In September, his third streaming service album “IDENTIFY (trax)” was released, and has been described as his “Least Favourite album” yet. In November, an EP was released on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon, titled “clovers”. Finally, in December, Soluxus had reworked some tracks from his album “MAGNET”, and Soultech also featured on Soluxus' release “‘23 TRACKS COMP”, on a rework of “Alta 4D”.
In 2024, Soultech announced a 5th Anniversary mix to be released on YouTube, and for this, all of his albums available on streaming services would be reuploaded exclusively on youtube featuring outtakes and remixes.
